How cute is this blush and pom pom Euler + Arccos set?! Britex Fabrics sent me this lovely tee shirt weight Peach cotton knit to celebrate the release of my new Paper Patterns! I wrote a blog post for them with a tutorial on how to sew that enclosed crotch!! Check it out here!
I had so much fun sewing this set. The pom pom trim was a total last minute addition, but I think it really makes it! I’m totally in love with the three little pom poms in the seams on the panty!
Adding accent trim into the Arccos side seams is a perfect way to use up a teeny amount of trim instead of throwing those little ends away. Responsible sewing, sustainability yay!! Also it looks wicked cute.
If you want to add trim to your side seams (or any seam), here’s how you do it.
Start with the pieces you’re sewing together. Cut the trim to the desired length. (Also, I am loving how the trim looks like little fake eyelashes here.)
Pin the trim into the seam allowance right side down, with decorative edge facing away from the edge of the fabric. It doesn’t matter which piece, front or back, you pin the trim to.
Now lay your other pattern piece over right side down and pin, making a little trim sandwich.
Sew the seams, then understitch the seam allowance, ensuring that the trim will point in a specific direction. Here, I serged the seam using black thread, and understitched using a three step zig zag in tan thread.
Ta Dah!
If you haven’t gotten your copy of the Euler Bralette or Arccos Undies yet, scoot right over and get yours now! They come in both downloadable PDF and now Printed versions, whichever is your jam.
Happy Sewing!
